1989 Stylized Electric

-Contributed by Barry & James Beringer-

This electric guitar was built in the late 1980’s. It was patterned after dad’s “living room guitar,” a stylized archtop. It is made out of cherry with a 5-piece maple neck. The fingerboard is Padauk. It was originally going to be his job guitar, but about the time he built it, he quit playing publically. It had points when he first built it and one day when I came into the house, he showed me a revision he had made to the guitar. He said he didn’t want the “double amputee” guitar to be lonely.

(revision note: Image of original unamputated guitar posted by James Beringer.)
