The earliest of dad’s guitars that I have was built in approximately 1963 or 1964. It shows dad’s ever experimental side. The guitar is made from Formica. To get a good acoustic sound, he designed a double top—the lower one of spruce. He always joked that you could serve breakfast on this guitar. After all these years, it still plays well and the finish is still just scratch-resistant Formica.
